WordPress is a blogging software that has a CMS, or Content Management System, a system that lets you change the content, words and pictures, yourself, quickly and easily.

Blogging software was developed to keep a diary or log, (web log, weblog), but has moved beyond this and is now the easiest way to get a professional and effective website at a very reasonable cost.

WordPress has two great advantages:

• It’s easy to add content.
• The search engines find it easily.

There are two sorts of WordPress:
WordPress.com which you don’t need hosting for, has 60+ templated themes and is good if a bit basic.
WordPress.org which you have to arrange (and pay for) hosting, but has thousands of themes, and hundreds of widgets to add on to perform special functions.

We recommend using WordPress.org. This gives you a more professional looking site, usage of contact forms, email addressses and much more.

WordPress is built around themes, or templates. These are designs that you can choose, many of them free, and then modify slightly for your own use. (This modifying is what we do for you…) There are hundreds of free themes on the WordPress themes website,
and thousands more, both free and paid for (called Premium), on other websites.
We can advise you on a suitable theme, and tell you if it will meet all your needs.
We can also build a personal theme for you.

WORDPRESS PLUGINS
Adding really cool functions to WordPress..
Plugins are small bits of code that you can choose to have on your site. This site, (is a WordPress site!), and some of the plugins make forms like the contact one, fight spam, and help with SEO.
We’ll advise you which plugins would suit you best, and we’ll install and test them.
(We will also advise you not to put lots of fancy ones on which don’t actually do a bunch. This slows the site down.)

CONTENT
